We have an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic data programme, embarking on a journey of discovery and delivery to fully leverage data across the organisation. After 30 years of growth and acquisition, our business is now focusing on internal projects aimed at taking stock of our data assets and answering key questions: Where is our data? Who is using it? Where is it going? And most importantly for this role: “What tools and methods will we use to manage and utilize it?”
Duration: This position is offered on a fixed-term contract, set to run until the end of 2025, due to the nature of the programme.
Location: Mid-Suffolk, between Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds
Salary: Dependent on experience, with a guide maximum of £45,000 plus benefits. If you are over this, please still apply as the role is asking for a lot of knowledge and experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Analyse, design, implement, and support technologies required to deliver the data programme.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with technology staff to build and implement solutions meeting necessary standards, including cybersecurity and audit.
• Solution Development: Work with team members and business subject matter experts to create and implement technology solutions, enabling the business to be self-sufficient in creating data products. Provide training and technical support as needed.
• Data Product Improvement: Work with SMEs to deliver and improve data products, ensuring data and systems knowledge is shared across the organisation.
• Business Requirement Translation: Translate business requirements into technical solutions to effectively test and evaluate business ideas.
• Documentation and Training: Develop documentation and training sessions for the solution to ensure support by technology personnel.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Technical Requirements: Experience in capturing and documenting technical and non-technical system requirements and communicating these to relevant stakeholders.
• Business Technology Implementation: Track record in designing and implementing technology solutions that deliver business value, ensuring security, data protection, and audit requirements are met and evidenced.
• Technical Documentation and Training: Experience in documenting complex solutions for use by IT staff and in upskilling technical staff.
• Cyber & Information Security: Experience in protecting large organisations’ data from cybersecurity threats and ensuring information security compliance.

Ideal (Not Essential) Skills:

• Data Solutions: Experience implementing IT solutions related to data technologies and querying structured and non-structured data.
• Leadership: Experience in leading others, not necessarily as a line manager, and providing guidance on new processes and technology.
• Business Guidance: Experience in advising the business on new processes and technology required to support the role.
